This is the list of goals I made back in January... wow that seems so long ago! Since my bday is rolling around I thought I'd review my goals and see how I'm doing.
1) Visit with family as often as possible (local and long distance)
Well I can honestly say that I've done a lot of local and long distance visiting so far this year. I've managed two trips to Germany, and cousin Graham & Trish have come from the UK 3 times so far! I've made a few trips over to Vancouver Island to see mom & dad and they've been over here too. There will be some more trips to Vancouver Island now that my brother, SIL and niece have moved to Victoria. I miss popping in for tea & a visit when they lived 15 minutes down the road. We've seen my BIL, SIL & the kids from Kelowna too!
2) Create more "ME" time (I'm too busy doing everything for everyone else I forget about me!)
I've stuck like glue on this one too! I'm still the busy bee with the kind & generous heart who's busy doing it all for everyone else... BUT! I have managed to learn to tell people when things just aren't possible or to schedule things in when I'm not as busy. So I have created a lot more ME time and have been spending it doing the things I enjoy. I've also learned to let others take over once in awhile too ;)
3) Eat less of Mrs. Vicki's potato chips! LOL :)
Okay... this one should NEVER have been on the list in the first place! Me?! give up Mrs. Vicki's Salt n' Vinegar potato chips... not in this lifetime! They're just way too good!
4) Exercise more often (does running around like a chicken with your head cut off count as exercise?) LOL :)
I am so not a gym person, but DH and I have been enjoying our walks and I have used the pool more than I have in the past. I'm also enjoying walks with my girlfriends when we have some free time.... we just have to learn to eliminate the stop at the wine bar on the way home! LOL :)
5) Stay in touch with long distance friends
I'd say I've done reasonably well with this. Email, blogging, postcards, letters and phone calls. The wonders of modern technology have made this one easy. I've even sent out some surprises to unsuspecting friends. I didn't have a chance to see my TLC friends in SLC, Utah this year which was sad, but we're still in touch. I also missed seeing my friend Cara from New York, she was in Vancouver while I was on holiday.... darn!
How are you doing with your NY goals?
