Last Friday night I went to a crop until midnight and managed to make a load of birthday and thanksgiving cards. Thanksgiving is creeping up on us quickly... it's early for us here in Canada this year... October 8th! The drive home took me much longer than expected, what normally takes me about 30 minutes (at that time of night) took me close to 90 minutes! There was a terrible 4 car accident on the highway... so traffic was at a standstill and the highway closed until it was cleared. ((sigh)) Bedtime didn't happen until 2am!

Early Saturday morning I boogied over to Victoria to celebrate Kate's 1st birthday with my parents, brother & SIL. We had a wonderful visit and great celebration... Kate was so adorable! I haven't seen her since June and she's grown so much! My SIL made an amazing cake for Kate and we had champagne too!

Along with an outfit that I bought for Kate, I gave her two keepsake gifts. The first was a doubled sided 12x12 shadow box. The layouts are of Kate with her mom and her dad. I also gave her a mini album filled with photos of her first year. I stayed overnight and had a great visit. I headed home on Sunday afternoon and got myself prepped & psyched for the upcoming week.

I've been busy getting organized for this weekend's Crop-A-Q event. What's a Crop-A-Q? Well it's a crop with a BBQ lunch! We've got 25 people registered for the event this Sunday! Myself along with Hayley and Joanne have been busy organizing/planning the event and we got together last week to make up the goodie bags. We've also been collecting the various donations for our door prizes and making our food shopping list as well as finalizing some of the activities for the day. It's going to be an amazing day.... we've got so many door prizes that everyone should win something!

I also went to an amazing concert with my friend Ann. We saw pianist, Li Wang. He's wonderful to hear and to see. He played a wonderful selection of Grieg and Liszt.... we went to another world last night, Li Wang just sweeps you away with his playing.
So along side all the preparations for this Sunday, work during the week, and social engagements... it's been a very busy week. We're heading out to dinner this evening too! Our friend Keith is visiting from Scotland and tonight is the only chance we'll get to see him before he flys home next week.
I'll be spending my Saturday getting the car loaded, making a salad for the crop, doing chores around the house and packing my scrapbook gear for Sunday.
