Cute isn't it?.... this chair was given to me by my grandfather when I was a child. He bought it on a trip to Mexico... I think it was back in the mid 60's. (I'll have to ask mom). It's one of those precious things that I've kept from my childhood. It moved with me from house to house when I was growing up and managed to survive. After I outgrew the chair it became the chair for my bear. I kept my favorite stuffed Pooh bear on it for the longest time. Right up until this summer.
Before my brother moved to Victoria, I passed along my childhood chair to Kate, my niece. She'll be 1 year old next Thursday (the time has just flown by!) and I felt she should have the chair. She'll never know her great grandfather but I hope that my family will be able to tell her stories about him when she's old enough to remember them. And I'll be able to tell her about "my chair" and what memories it holds for me.
My brother was quite shocked that I still had the chair and was happy that I passed it along to his daughter. I hope that she has many happy moments sitting with a favorite book or stuffed animal. Perhaps it will survive another 40 years and she can pass it along to the next generation.

What a sweet story. I have a headband from Mexico that I have had since I was really young.
I can't believe you have an old pooh bear. you must post a picture. I have one too. I have had it since I was around 9 or 10. Mine looks terrible.
How funny is that?
PS: 40 Years!!!
You said you were 24!!
How sweet. What a huge thing to do. I hope she understands when she is older what a precious treasure she has in her life.
