Happy Spring! The daffodils and tulips are in bloom! if the sunshine would just come out and stay longer than 1 or 2 days and the temperature would rise another couple of degrees then I'd be happy and I'd know that spring was really truly here!
It's been another crazy busy week around here... so what else is new?
Last Saturday (15th) I had a meeting/work party during the day which started at 8am, I went straight from the meeting to the airport to pick up Graham, Naomi and Ruth. They're visiting Canada from the UK for two weeks. We spent Saturday afternoon/evening visiting and after a good breakfast on Sunday morning I drove them out to the ferry so they could spend the first week on their holiday on Vancouver Island. They're coming back to Vancouver on Tuesday to spend the rest of their vacation with us. "Tour Guide" will be my official title next week!
In between the regular work happenings during the weekdays I had a pretty busy week with "extra activities".
The MITM Committee had another meeting/dinner/wine tasting to prepare for our upcoming April event. We have 65 items donated for the silent auction and hope to be sold out of tickets by the end of this week! Our goal is to raise $50,000! I'll let you know how we do after the event.
I went to two concerts this week as well. The VWMS featured Avan Yu, a fabulous young (20 yrs young) pianist. He's amazing! and on Thursday evening DH and I went to hear/see Paul Potts. Remember him.... the cell phone salesman from the UK that won the "Britain's Got Talent" show. We had a great night and really enjoyed the show.
I had the cleaning lady working her magic early on Thursday morning so we're spic and span for the weekend, I did finish all the laundry (had some extra towels/sheets etc. after Graham and girls left) I hit Granville Island market early in the morning yesterday, I've got all the fixin's for Easter Sunday dinner today. Our friends Charles and Penny are joining us for dinner.
I finished a book on Friday morning too! Rare as it is... I actually lounged in bed with my coffee on Friday morning to finish the book Sisters Ink by Rebeca Seitz. It was a quick read and I enjoyed the book... 'Coming Unglued' is due out in summer '08. The rest of the series will be published in 2009. Here's another link to a blog about the book.
Yesterday I spent some time in my "little scrap studio" and completed the AC from TLC. I loved working with the Kleer Keeperz album! The project was so easy to do! I made the album with photos of Oma Lisa.
So other than making an Apple Struedel and cooking Easter dinner for tonight my day today is going to be pretty relaxed.
Happy Easter Everyone!
