It's March!

Wow! already into March... I'm looking forward to this month, it's another busy one but I wouldn't have it any other way ;)

I'm happy to see the daffodils and rhododendrons are in bloom and the tulips are well on their way. We get to "Spring" forward on the clock this Sunday... yahoo! I love that it won't be dark so early anymore.

The month is going to be filled with a lot of preparations for Music In The Mornings big fundraiser "An Enchanted Evening" which is on April 3rd. I've been busy with helping organize the event and collecting donations for the silent auction. It should be a great night! We've got two work parties scheduled.

I've got four concerts booked this month, MITM, Rush Hour, VWMS and Paul Potts!

Cousin Graham and his two daughters are arriving on the 15th from the UK for a two week holiday. One week will be spent on the island and then they are back here and staying with DH & I for 5 days before heading home.

I'm going to a card class with the Stamp Club the afternoon of the 16th.... I hope to get my Easter cards finished as well as a couple of bday cards.

St. Patrick's Day... squeezing in a Battle of the Bards pub crawl and a concert that night! OMG what was I thinking!

Easter is around the corner too! Wow it's early this year...

I've got to get myself organized sometime this month for the weekend scrapbooking retreat at Timberline Ranch! Yes... I'm off again to another retreat! April 4, 5, & 6!! Woo hoo!

I managed to take some time last weekend and cleaned up and reorganized my scrap space here at home. I purchased some great storage units at Costco and now I can actually see what I have in my bins... the old dresser is gone! (giddy dance) I was getting somewhat frustrated with the old dress... things got lost in those drawers and I just couldn't see what I had. Now it's all sorted and I discovered I had a few extra supplies stashed away. LOL Like that hasn't happened to you too!

The weather has actually been quite pleasant, not super warm but we're having typical spring weather.... I know spring isn't officially here until the 21st but it's looking and feeling like spring.

I had a group of friends over on Wednesday night for a Stampin' Up party... we had a blast! and it was a really nice distraction for me in the evening. I'd had a sad/blah mood day, Oma Lisa's funeral was on Wednesday. DH & I spoke to the family before we left for work, the funeral went well and the sun actually came out for them that afternoon. The previous day it had snowed in Germany!

They've been having some terrible storms in Northern Germany these past couple of weeks. Take a peek at this video of what the wind did to this plane on it's landing attempt. It's a miracle that the pilot kept such control of the plane and managed take off again and then to land safely on the 2nd attempt 15 minutes later. Pretty darn scary!!

Oh I know that feeling all too well. Wellington Airport in NZ is notorious for its crosswinds combined with a freakishly short runway.

Having landed sideways there more times than I care to remember I have also experienced TWICE the whole "start to land, touch down a wheel, abort and take off again"

It is not something you want to go through.

The feeling of those planes forced to take back off into the air when they are at such a slow speed is scary.

The whole plane shakes and shudders and absolutely groans like it is going to fall apart. Actually both times too - it was an Airbus!

The second time I had H with me - she was only 3 months old - I honestly thought we were both going to die.
