A Vancouver Christmas Tradition

The Woodward’s Windows have been a Vancouver Christmas tradition since the 1960s, delighting shoppers with holiday scenes and characters from years gone by.

Canada Place rescued the Christmas window displays in 1993 when the Woodward’s store closed, incorporating the Woodward’s Windows into the Christmas magic at Canada Place.

They are fun to watch and each display have all wooden figures with moving parts, all Christmas themes. I love them!

They will be in 6 locations this year...

Canada Place at 999 Canada Place
Woodward's building at Hastings and Abbott
Bentall One at Burrard and Pender
Bentall Three at Burrard and Dunsmuir
BC Ferries at Burrard and Cordova
Vancouver Christmas Market at Cambie and Georgia. (it's the one in the photo above)

Thanks for posting the locations Izzy. I hope to get downtown and at least see a couple of these this year. I used to go down to Woodward's when I was a kid and see their windows.
