An Evening with Chef Michael Smith

Ann and I went to the Hamilton Street Grill in Yaletown last night for a special Cooks to Books event.  Chef Michael Smith is in Vancouver and he did an intimate evening of food, wine and chatting for guests at the HSG.  We sampled food items from his newest cookbook.  I had my book signed and had a photo taken with Chef Michael.  I have to say, he is one of the most down to earth, honest guys out there and his opinions on food are amazing and his food is simply wonderful!  I love his show on the Food Network and meeting him in real life was a real treat for me.  We had a little conversation about items I've made from his show and told him about some "twists" I'd done to a recipe, "watch out, he said, I love it! you'll know where the idea came from when you see it on the show!" LOL
