Lagoa do Fogo - Lagoon of Fire, is a crater lake within the Agua de Pau stratovolcano in the center of the island of São Miguel Island. To reach the lake... you drive to the top, park your car and then one must hike down the trail to the lake and then back up again. The government does not allow any construction around this lake - Thank Goodness!! Truly amazing views from the top and the landscape is truly unspoilt.
