I was busy on Saturday, visiting a friend, then getting appies ready for a big party in the early evening. DH & I helped our good friends Ann & Rob prepare and set up for Ann's parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. June 28th 1958 was their wedding day and we celebrated with them on the exact date 50 years later! It's amazing to think that I've known George and Marilyn for 20 of those years. They were pleasantly surprised when they arrived at the hall. Marilyn had a feeling something was happening but she was still surprised when they entered the hall. There were about 50 family & friends gathered to celebrate their special day!
Sunday morning DH & I watched the Euro 2008 game: Germany vs. Spain. The result was not what we had hoped for, but we enjoyed watching the game. Perhaps Germany will do better next time! Sonja... glad that your team won for you!
I spent the afternoon, lounging in the sunshine, reading a good book.... it was glorious weather this weekend!
We're celebrating Canada Day tomorrow with Ann & Rob, a trip up the river on the boat with a picnic planned.

So happy you had a good weekend - and I'm sorry about your team not winning the soccer game ;-( Both teams played well and it could have gone either way. It was really fun to watch it with some good friends - and the cheering was very balanced. Crazy soccer fans like us rule!
